Scheduling, Communications & Expectations.

No one wants to have to implement policies and procedures, but reality & past experiences force me to set expectations. Please know that I will also do my best to work on issues with everyone professionally and timely. Communication is the key to successful collaboration.

Advance Scheduling: Please book all appointments in your package at the time of purchase. As a small business, I plan my calendar based on the training programs in progress. Your program consists of a predetermined number of lessons as outlined in your proposal.    I limit the number of active clients in programs at any given time. New client start dates are contingent on the completion of existing client packages. Review your own calendar in advance for any major events you have scheduled — spay/neuter surgery, vacation, summer visitors, holidays, etc.

Requests for rescheduling may mean your preferred date and time is not available.

The duration of the Behavior Rehab Program will be defined specifically as needed.

Package Expiration: There is an important element of continuity, consistency, and building progress based on the homework assignments. Your program consists of a predetermined number of lessons as outlined in the purchased package.    I can offer some flexibility in your weekly schedule appointment time and day of the week. Rescheduling & extension requests may not allow you to keep your same-day/time appointment.

Lessons in Your Puppy & Obedience or Off Leash Package will EXPIRE.   Lessons are designed to be held weekly. Lessons must be completed in a specific timeframe.  We set a completion date for your training program so that we can plan our schedules & events.   Your lesson completion date is calculated by the Start Date + # of  Lessons purchased + 2 weeks.      Example:   if you are purchasing 6 Lessons you will have 8 weeks maximum to complete all 6 lessons.

I schedule new clients based on your expected completion date.

Any client that goes 2 weeks (14 days) without meeting for a lesson or without any communication, will be assumed to have abandoned your package and all lessons will be expired.    No refunds will be given

If you have conflicts in scheduling or if an illness/injury has occurred, please notify me.
The Behavior Rehab Program is designed to work with you through a maintenance period. The timeframe will be defined specifically as needed.

Rescheduling Requests:

Rescheduling requests or Cancellations of scheduled appointments must be received at least 24 hours in advance.  In most cases, I am not able to fill your time slot within 24 hours.

  • Same-day cancellations may be subject to a reduction of the remaining number of lessons at the K9 Coach discretion.  If the K9 coach is already en route due to travel requirements at the time of cancellation or arrives at the scheduled location without receiving notification to also include reasonable travel time, it will count as a lesson and no refund will be given.

  • For Consultations: Deposits for consultations will not be refunded.

  • Requests to reschedule within 24 hours of your appointment time may incur a $25 rescheduling fee via invoice. This must be paid before your next appointment is confirmed.

Training Lessons & Progress:

  • The owner/handler understands and agrees to practice daily for at least 30-60 minutes between scheduled lessons with The K9 Coach.

  • The dog and owner will receive the training program as outlined in the training package.  The K9 Coach will demonstrate training techniques so that the dog learns the commands and the owner learns the methods to teach & reinforce consistency and expected behaviors from the dog and help you troubleshoot techniques and tools to achieve successful completion of each skill and behavioral improvement.

  • The K9 Coach cannot and does not assume responsibility for the behavior and performance of the dog while being handled by the owner between lessons.

Communications:

Communication is essential.  You may contact me via our private client forum with questions, updates, or requests for video review between your lessons.

Most communications from the K9 Coach will done be by phone or email for documentation purposes.  Please do NOT text me for appointment reschedules or matters that require a discussion.  Texting me does not permit me to communicate properly if I am out of the office or otherwise unavailable for a period of time or if you have reached me outside of business hours.

Please be prepared to take notes on your lessons and to utilize my website and the client forum for important content on the topics we discuss.

Medical Cancellations:

If the dog shows evidence of a medical problem while under the supervision of The K9 Coach, The K9 coach shall have the right to refuse training & require that the dog be treated before the program can continue.

If your dog falls ill or is injured during your training period, we will pause your program and resume when the dog is healthy.

Client Representation:

The client represents sole legal ownership of the dog with full rights to train it.

The dog has not been exposed to distemper, rabies, or parvo within the past thirty (30) days; the dog is healthy and free of disease.

Payments:

Payments for all services are due at your first appointment. Package programs are paid in full either at booking or at your first scheduled appointment. Once your first appointment is completed, no refunds will be given.

My Promise To You: If at the end of the consultation/assessment, you feel we did not make huge progress with your dog and your understanding of your dog tell me before this appointment is completed, and I will refund your money for the consultation or package and cancel any additionally scheduled appointments.

Payments can be made in the form of Cash, Check, or Zelle.    Credit Card payments may incur a 4% fee for processing.   Payment is due in full at the start of the training program.   All payments are non-refundable.  Checks should be made payable to The K9 Coach. Returned checks will be charged a $20 fee.

If you prepaid for your package or service and express dissatisfaction that you did not learn anything
